The Government of Cabo Verde, in collaboration with the World Bank, Innovation for Policy Foundation (i4Policy), and Miranda & Associados, is excited to announce the commencement of a transformative initiative to foster a thriving startup ecosystem. This ambitious project, operating under the Digital Cabo Verde Project (DCVP), aims to create a business-enabling environment through the development and implementation of startup-friendly laws, regulations, and policies.
A cornerstone of this initiative is the development of the Cabo Verde Startup Act, a landmark piece of legislation designed to empower startups, entrepreneurs, and ecosystem actors across the nation. The Technical Working Group (TWG), comprising champions from the Government and the ecosystem, has been formed to guide the implementation of this vital program. The TWG will work diligently to ensure that the Startup Act reflects the needs and aspirations of Cabo Verde’s entrepreneurial community.
The Digital Cabo Verde Project (DCVP) aims to accelerate the country’s digital economy by enhancing digital infrastructure and services and by leveraging emerging digital skills. The development of the Startup Act is a crucial component of this broader vision.
